APPLE PIE

Ingredients:

Apple : 3
Sugar : 3 Tbsp.
Flour : 3 teaspoons
Nutmeg Powder: ¼ teaspoon
Cinnamon powder : ¼ teaspoon
Butter : 2 teaspoon
Lime : ½

Method:

Mix the sugar, flour, nutmeg powder and cinnamon powder.

Add the sliced apples and lime juice.

Heat over a gentle flame for a minute then turn into a greased tray.

Dot with butter. Cover the apple with pastry and seal the edges on the inside of the tray so there is no gap .

Cut 1 or 2 slits on top for steam to escape.

Brush with egg whites sprinkle some sugar on top. Bake at 200 C for about 20 minutes.

Ingredients for Pastry:

Flour :1 cup
Butter : 2 Tbsp.
Water : 2-3 teaspoons

Method for Pastry:

Mix butter with flour, rub till it looks like bread crumbs. Sprinkle water and make a stiff dough and let it rest for a few minutes.

Roll it flat to fit the baking tray.
